The central issue of study is whether it is possible to offer a new analytical understanding of resistance in Imam Khomeini’s political thought based on modern sovereignty. The main research question explores how the concept of resistance in Imam Khomeini’s thought can be analyzed and interpreted in view of modern theories of sovereignty. Using a text-centered hermeneutic method, the study examines Imam Khomeini’s views alongside seminal theories of sovereignty by modern thinkers. The article’s hypothesis is that concepts such as <span style="mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; font-style: normal;">Velayat-e Faqih, religious freedom, prudential rationality (<span style="mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; font-style: normal;">maslahat), and cultural-economic self-sufficiency form a conceptual framework for resistance within the structure of Islamic sovereignty. The key contribution of this study lies in articulating the theoretical capacity of resistance in Imam Khomeini’s thought, both in terms of divine sovereignty and in its engagement with the modern world and rival political theories. این مقاله با تکیه ‌بر نظریه‌‌های حاکمیت نزد فیلسوفان سیاسی مدرن به تحلیل و بازخوانی مفهوم مقاومت در اندیشۀ سیاسی امام خمینی می‌پردازد. مسئلۀ اصلی پژوهش، بررسی امکان ارائه تحلیل جدیدی از مفهوم مقاومت در بازخوانی اندیشۀ سیاسی امام مبتنی بر حاکمیت مدرن است. پرسش اصلی آن است که چگونه می‌توان مفهوم مقاومت در اندیشۀ امام را با توجه به نظریه‌های مدرن حاکمیت تحلیل و تفسیر کرد.<span lang="AR-SA" style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi;"> پژوهش حاضر با بهره‌گیری از روش هرمنوتیک متن‌محور، دیدگاه‌های امام خمینی را در کنار نظریات شاخص حاکمیت مدرن مورد تحلیل قرار می‌دهد. فرضیۀ مقاله آن است که مفاهیمی مانند ولایت‌فقیه، آزادی دینی، عقلانیت مصلحت‌محور و خودکفایی فرهنگی- اقتصادی، چهارچوبی مفهومی برای مقاومت در قالب حاکمیت اسلامی پدید می‌آورند. دستاورد مهم این پژوهش تبیین ظرفیت نظری مقاومت در اندیشۀ امام، هم ناظر به وضع حاکمیت الهی و هم در گفتگو و تعامل با واقعیت جهان نو و اندیشه‌های رقیب است.
